  1. Amazing giveaway! I love the paranormal genre since there are so many ways the story can go :)

    1. Glad you like it :) And yes, you're right about paranormal, there are so many possibilities. I think everyone can find something they like, if a reader doesn't like vampires, then there are always ghosts or werewolves, or even original monsters from creative authors.

  2. While there are many types or subgenres of the paranormal genre I love, I really love my paranormal reads to have some type of mystery or suspense included within the story. I really don't like to read a "simple" (quotes mine because I know that no romance is ever simple) love story. I have had enough relationship crises in my life to last several lifetimes without reading repeated versions of "we love each other but something is horribly wrong, we made up, etc." I want my hero and heroine to fight something, kick some massive butt, kill some beasties, maybe even shift into some beasties, make some wild beastie love, race naked into the night to kick more butt. You get the idea? My hero/heroine are paranormal and vicious. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway and for the opportunity for me to discuss my love of the genre. michelle_willms@yahoo.com

    1. Good point, and I love your turn of phrase 'I want my hero and heroine to fight something, kick some massive butt, kill some beasties, maybe even shift into some beasties, make some wild beastie love, race naked into the night to kick more butt.' I certainly got the idea :).

I agree, I don't read pure paranormal romance, well, ok, I do read the odd short erotica, but for me, too, there should be some plot behind the romance, something that drives the plot on. Most of the paranormal books I write, unless they're in the erotica genre, and mostly even then, are at the paranormal fantasy, rather than the paranormal romance end of the bucket. Not that I'm not partial to a bit of romance thrown in there as well though :), but the driver of the plot is normally something else.

      Thanks for your thoughts.

  3. Wax lyrical, huh? I'm not that poetic, but I'll do my best! My utmost favorite genre is fantasy and all that falls underneath its umbrella: high, dark, epic, paranormal, urban, gaslamp. Whether its set as a parallel dimension to ours, a fairy realm, a magical realm, otherwordly, city scape, or ours but there are fantastical beings, I am a sucker for it. I love the escapism, I love the flawed (but not damaged) heroes and heroines. I do not like wimpy fainty heroines. As a child, my idol was Wonder Woman and I tend to gravitate still towards powerful, strong, independent, and feminine heroes. Yes, I want them to have it all!
    Thank you for the giveaway!

    1. I am so with you, I go for all sorts of fantasy too. I like your take on strong feminine heroes and I used to watch Wonder Woman, I was always rather fond of her truth lasso! I like Firestar from Spiderman and His Amazing Friends as well, but I always thought Princess from Battle of The Planets was a bit wimpy.

Black Widow from Avengers Assemble and Gretel from Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters are my fav strong females at the moment.

  4. My favorite genre is fantasy. My love affair started before I could even read. I loved fairy tales and mythology, which are fantasy for the most part. And then I got older and started reading the fantasy novels my older brother left at home when he went to college. I love the world building and creativity involved; the ability to form a universe with its own set of physics and laws.

    1. I started with fairy tales too - I still have my battered old paperback copy of The Brothers Grimm. :)
